I don’t even know how to explain how f*cked up it feels to see people out here comparing rape to police cavity searches like they’re just two versions of the same thing. Do you even hear yourselves? Do you know how careless and cruel that is?
Yes — police abuse is real. Yes — there are countless cases where people have been dehumanized and violated under the guise of “procedure.” But calling that rape? No. That word carries something deeper. Something darker. Something I promise you, you don't fully understand if you’re throwing it around like that.
Rape is not just about physical violation — it’s about having your humanity ripped out of you. It’s about carrying a wound that doesn’t heal right. It’s about silence and shame and trying to feel safe in your own f*cking body again. And you don’t get to cheapen that just to win a political argument or sound more outraged online.
When you equate every form of invasive trauma to rape, you erase what survivors go through. You make our pain a prop. You use our worst memories as a metaphor. And that hurts. It really, really hurts.
Talk about police brutality. Talk about injustice. Scream about it — I’ll scream with you. But don’t stand on the backs of survivors to do it.
We deserve better than that.
