So today in class we had to google our houses for this project. everyone was showing theres and when it came to mine my friend noticed we had a gate. i kinda laughed and said “holy richie rich bro a gate” just as a joke but then everyone wanted to see my house. i hate showing it cuz i always feel embarrassed. like when ppl come over i only let them in the front yard or downstairs. but i showed them and right away they start teasing me, saying “holy rich kid” “omg dude” nonstop. i tried to explain like my parents bought it before prices went up but they didn’t care. now its just “you’re rich” forever.
then someone googled the private school i went to for one year and it showed 20k a year and everyone jumped on me again. i only went there for a year but now i’m stuck being “the rich friend.” it sucks. my parents don’t even let me buy much. my friends go shopping and spend like 200$ and i only get like 90-100$. i could ask for more but i feel bad spending there money.
most of the money i do have i worked for babysitting, dog walking, even in 104 degree heat in summer, but none of that matters to anyone. all they see is “rich kid.” now i don’t even wanna invite ppl over for my birthday cuz i know the teasing will get worse. i don’t feel rich at all but that’s all they see when they look at.
