Imagine a jenga tower. Several pieces were already removed. One jenga piece has become the primary support for the majority of the jenga tower. There are some pieces on the edges in a precarious position that need support. You could move the primary supporting jenga piece to shore up those pieces. The problem is if you do, the whole jenga tower is almost guaranteed to come tumbling down. You really can't risk moving the shoring piece, even though you badly want to.
