i don’t even know where to start anymore. it just feels like everything is burning and the people at the top are too busy sipping wine and patting each other on the back to even notice. like seriously… do they not see us? do they not see the way people are barely hanging on? rent is half a paycheck, groceries are a luxury, and g## forbid you get sick — you’ll end up with a hospital bill that follows you to the grave.
and the people in charge? they just talk. that’s all they ever do. press conferences, photo ops, fancy speeches while we’re out here trying to figure out if we can afford fckin toilet paper this month. and when people complain, they say we’re lazy or entitled or dramatic. like bro, no. we’re exhausted. we’re overworked. we’re constantly being gaslit by a system that was never built to care about us.
meanwhile they keep giving money to corporations like they’re adoptable puppies. billion-dollar tax breaks for companies laying off workers and shipping jobs overseas. banks crash the economy and somehow get rewarded for it. oil companies destroy the planet and get government contracts. regular people miss one bill and get their lights shut off. make it make sense.
and don’t even get me started on healthcare. or public transit. or housing. or wages. or the fact that everything is run like a f###### business now. like everything’s about profit. not people. not communities. not wellbeing. just dollars. how much can they squeeze out of us before we collapse. and even when we do collapse? they’ll find a way to monetize that too. charge us for breathing too loud probably.
we’re just numbers to them. statistics. liabilities. they’ll call us “the workforce” but won’t treat us like human beings. we’re expected to work till we die, smile through the stress, and thank them for the privilege of barely surviving. and if we break down? if we snap? it’s OUR fault. we didn’t try hard enough. we didn’t hustle. we weren’t “grateful.”
no one’s listening. no one’s coming to fix it. it’s just us. holding each other up while the people with power treat our pain like background noise. and honestly? that’s the part that hurts the most. not just the struggle… but the silence.
